Old Art Made New

I was digging through my old sketchbooks in my closet recently and wanted to take a few drawings I really liked from way back and put my skills of today on them. Keep in mind these sketches are from about 1996 or 1997. I really should have dated these, but they were just sketches and not meant to be final art. Both of these were character designs. I think both have a different style applied to them.

This was for a book I had been hired to do at the time that just didn’t work out, but I really liked the costume designs for these two characters. Their names are Stars and Stripes. Stars (the female character) had light-based powers and could fly. Stripes (the male character) was an ex-military guy, a bit on the short side and had speed-based powers.
